High season in Akumal is from December to April. The weather is warm and dry and there’s a vibrant nightlife. This is the most popular time of year to go, so be sure to book in advance.
Shoulder season is May and November. Temperatures and humidity rise, and you may seem occasional showers in the afternoon. May is also the start of turtle nesting season. For many, this is the best time to go.
Low season is June to October. This season sees the highest chance of rain, but it’s also the least crowded time. Turtle hatching season is also July to October, making Akumal one of the best places to visit during the Mayan Riviera’s low season.
