Sea Winds Villa

OVERVIEW

Seawinds is a beautifully designed Caribbean-style waterfront villa sitting in almost an acre of tropical gardens. Located on the seafront, it nestles behind a protective reef which forms the ecologically important Little Harbour. The sea views across the pool and beyond are astounding and extend from St Martin to St Barths and Tintamarre.

Seawinds is well devised, with an open plan living room, dining area and kitchen all with screened glass sliding doors leading to the generous shaded verandas which wrap around the entire south of the property. The glass frontage provides lots of light and openness and all living areas have ceiling fans. The veranda houses a large Brown Jordan dining table and chairs for al fresco dining as well as comfortable Lloyd Loom rattan rocking chairs for relaxing and admiring the view.

The room furnishings throughout are light and airy with bright colours provided by Designers Guild and Missoni pillows. The artwork is colourful and contemporary. The centrepiece of the living room is a stunning large bronze sculpture ‘Turtle Dance’ by Robert Wyland.

The kitchen has granite counters and is well-equipped with new GE appliances and a dishwasher. There is everything you need to prepare simple meals or for your personal chef to cook a special dinner. There is also a gas grill under the veranda.

There are two large identical Master Suites which are located on opposite sides of the main living area and are connected to the main room by the verandas – this affords considerable privacy for each bedroom. Both suites have large en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers and marble double vanities as well as walk-in closets. In addition, a third bedroom (double or twin beds) is located off the living room with an adjoining bathroom. All bedrooms are air-conditioned with ceiling fans and are also designed with additional louvred windows for a more pleasant natural ventilation if preferred.

The pool is a generous size (length 40 feet) and has large areas of surrounding deck for lounging in the Caribbean sunshine. There are 8 Brown Jordan chaises for comfortable lounging. The large tropical gardens with paths around the property and down to the sea invite exploration. There are many areas to enjoy the fabulous views – from the hammock under the veranda, to the separate deck with the soothing Adirondack Rockers and down to the large sea deck with its huge comfortable Tropitone Sofa. The sea deck is large enough for yoga or Pilates sessions and is a favourite site for Dek Nor (Jepun Bali) to provide an afternoon massage in the breeze to the sound of breaking waves off the breakwater. Steps lead down from this deck all the way to the quiet lagoon where the slipway allows easy access for snorkelling or swimming in the calm waters protected by the reef. Turtles abound in the turquoise waters and the astounding bird life in this area includes Ospreys, Pelicans, Kingfishers, Green Herons and Whimbrel.

The villa is located very centrally, on the southern coastline, just off the Jeremiah Gumbs Highway. It is 5-minute drive from both the ferry at Blowing Point and the Airport. Seawinds Villa is walled and has remote-controlled gates. This area of Little Harbour is quiet and private, and the shore is lined with some of the most prestigious properties on the island.
